MONROE, Ga. — Four people were hurt a car collided with a fire truck in the Mount Vernon community.

The Walton County Fire Rescue E-19 emergency truck was involved, Battalion Chief Craig League said. It happened early Monday afternoon at U.S. 78 and Mount Vernon Road.

The fire truck was trying to reach a medical call on Mount Vernon Road.

League said four people in the car reported minor injuries but refused to go to the hospital.

The Walton County Sheriff’s Office responded.
