Clearview Regional Medical Center, located at 2151 W. Spring Street in Monroe, will host a First Annual Tree Lighting Ceremony on Friday, Dec. 1 at 7 p.m. in the atrium of the hospital.

Clearview staff want to invite members of the community to come out and enjoy a night of fun festivities.

Everyone in attendance will gather in the hospital’s atrium and light the tree that will act as the only tree for those who are currently sick and residing within the hospital’s walls.

Walker Park Elementary School’s chorus will make an appearance along with Santa and his best elf.

According to Haley Roberson, Pharm. D., RPh., “The idea for the tree lighting came from a desire to increase Clearview Regional Medical Center’s connection to the community.

“We light a tree in the atrium of our facility every year, why not turn it into a fun, free, family friendly event for the citizens of Walton County?”

Cookies and hot chocolate will be available for those who attend to enjoy and snack on during the evening’s event.

“Unfortunately, illness doesn’t always hold off because of the holiday season, so for many this tree will serve as their Christmas tree during a rough time in their lives.

“I felt that it would be meaningful to have the community come out and kick off this holiday season here at Clearview Regional,” she said. “We hope to make this a new tradition at Clearview.”
