Moore's Ford

Saturday was the annual re-enactment of the 1946 lynchings at Moore’s Ford Bridge between Walton and Oconee counties. Organized by the Georgia Association of Black Elected Leaders as part of its Day of Remembrance for all lynching victims, this was the eighth year the event included re-creating the scene, when George and Mae Murray Dorsey and Roger and Dorothy Malcom were allegedly taken by car to the bridge and shot multiple times by an unmasked white mob. The murder of the sharecroppers has not been solved.
