Officials gather to officially welcome Harmony

Principal: Last two years an ‘exercise of patience’

MONROE — Even as educators, elected officials and civic leaders gathered to welcome the future at the dedication of the new Harmony Elementary School, there was a moment to look back at the school’s past.

“It’s a little bittersweet,” said Lynn Hill, chairman of the Walton County Board of Education, as he spoke to more than 50 people in the cafeteria at the school Monday morning. “Monroe Primary School was my first school and I still have memories of the old school.”
