Posted: Wednesday, April 11, 2018 12:00 am

George Walton Academy returned from spring break with a heightened police presence on campus after a student comment made online through social media was seen as a possible threat.

The private school had additional officers from the Monroe Police Department on campus Monday as a precautionary measure, but school officials said they did not anticipate any escalation of violence on campus.
