Soldier’s wife wants Bergdahl to stand trial

Loganville’s Mark Allen shot while searching for alleged deserter

Posted: Sunday, June 15, 2014 12:00 am

While many are questioning the politics of the prisoner exchange for U.S. Army Sgt. Bowe Bergdahl, the wife of a local military man is raising questions about whether or not he will stand trial for desertion.

Shannon Allen and her husband, Master Sgt. Mark Allen, have come to call Loganville home after the soldier was debilitated after being shot by a sniper while serving in Afghanistan. Shannon said she spoke with people in her husband’s unit and confirmed that he was shot while reportedly on a rescue mission for Bergdahl.
