Insurance company’s denial means $250,000 bill for family

MONROE – More than 100,000 people from all over the U.S. have signed a petition asking Coventry Health Care Georgia to allow the gift of hearing to be received by Monroe 5-year-old Carson Rubin.

Carson’s mother, Shay Rubin, and her husband, Brian, faced a difficult road ahead when they were first informed their son had auditory neuropathy, a disease that causes the child to hear deafening heavy static that increases with noise levels around him.
