MONROE — With summer vacation in full swing now, the Walton County Board of Education faced a short meeting Tuesday evening but, thanks to a little help from the latest technology, they livened up the brief event with a little history-making flair.

Unable to attend in person, as he was out of town traveling, District 1 board member Jeremy Kilburn became the first member of the school board to attend a meeting via the digital airwaves.
