Lawsuit claims sheriff targeted Facebook critic

Attorney promises vigorous defense of allegations in federal court case

MONROE, Ga. — A man who said he was driven out of the county by harassment from the Sheriff’s Office now is suing the sheriff after being blocked on social media and arrested.

Christopher Randall Davis filed suit in U.S. District Court in Athens against Sheriff Joe Chapman, Deputy Eric Whitlow, Investigator William Knight and the unknown employee who manages the Walton County Sheriff’s Office Facebook page.
