From happiness to disgust, Walton County’s voters react to presidential election

Little support from Republican stronghold

Posted: Sunday, November 11, 2012 12:00 am

Anger, jubilation, resigned to looking toward the future — emotions ran the gamut Tuesday night and Wednesday morning for Walton County residents in the wake of President Barack Obama’s re-election.

“I was very nervous about it,” said Ollie James, chair of the Walton County Democratic Party. “Looking at all the negative things on TV, I wasn’t sure he’d pull it off.”

I find it funny that people believe A) The Republicans will work with Obama, B) That Obama will work with Republicans. Neither side has anything to gain by working together now. If the fiscal cliff happens, its going to be blamed on Republicans. And if Republicans give in, they lose 1/2 of their voters. Obama already stated he wanted to let the tax cuts expire. So why would he bother? My guess is he wont even try.

As for legislation that needs to be passed... Obama has already used executive powers in a way that Cheney would have died to be able to use (probably why he had heart problems). Who doesn't think Obama is willing to go the extra mile in using those powers? Also, New Justices will be put in place. So every liberal piece of legislation that is passed afterwards will be allowed. The Constitution will no longer hold ground to the will of the people. The rule of law will no longer be what is written, but what is "felt".

In mine eyes... Here Lies American Liberty R.I.P. 11/6/2012.
