Walton County Board of Commissioners County to pay Social Circle, but no deal yet

Long-range plan evades leaders for public safety

MONROE, Ga. — The county will pay Social Circle $65,000 for costs in running emergency calls betwen the time the county said it was backing out of a contract last year and the time the service arrangement actually ended Monday.

But an hour-long work session and further discussion in Tuesday night’s Board of Commissioners meeting yielded no further resolution on writing a services agreement on fire and medical emergency calls in unincorporated parts of southern Walton County.
