It is quite evident that Walton County Public Schools are steadily getting worse in the choices they are making concerning leadership.

It is quite evident with the current leadership at the Taj Mahal that those who screw up and are buddies of the stupidintendant get help and have their crimes and Psc violations covered up and the ones who stand up for what's right; safety of children, refusing to sign documents that are illegal or morally wrong, are banished and black listed from leadership positions in walton and surrounding areas. This happened to at least two acquaintances of mine from walton county one of which I am still on touch with , one of which i lost touch with.
I am proud of lusk! Way to Stand up to the idiocracy of the stupidintendent! ! Be forewarned though, now that you have stood up against him, he will retaliate on you. It may be subtle , it may be voracious , but it will be. He will talk to you like a piece of dirt at the meetings like he used to the other lady that stood up to him. I'm proud of lusk!! Please keep it up!

ok odaat363 here is your chance to call out President Obama for doing the exact same thing you are accusing Gary Hobbs of doing. While I agree here that we are supposed to be cutting the budget and if this claims are true then this gentlemen should be fired. I don't agree with the fact that some one is trying to bait and claim racism in a situation where it is not called for. So we will see if you believe what you said a few posts ago.
I will be waiting for a reply. Oh yeah and before you accuse me of being a racist , because I know as you read this you are thinking it, remember not all of us hate and believe race is the problem. [wink]

Since the principal at amaonroe is one of Hobbs buddies, maybe, just maybe he will transfer him back to Loganville. From what I here at Monroe, noe of the students care for him. I mead he doesn't let the kids have a pep rally, at least for home games.I also hear that the lunch periods are a disaster as to where some kids don't even have time to eat if they are stuck at the end of the line.

That's the way Hobbs rolls - his Loganville cronies get the plush jobs, anybody he sees as a threat gets canned and smeared even after they have been booted from the system. A certain former administer from the area south of Loganville comes to mind....

Nope it's definitely not the only problem I have with this story. I am simply tired of jobs being created and filled with Hobbs' buddies. He created an assistant supt position and filled it with his buddy from LHS, Nathan Franklin. This position was never posted and no one was ever interviewed. Hobbs also simply appointed the other current asst supt Rusty Linder. The job was never posted nor interviewed for. If you are going to fill all of your top ranking positions with your white male buddies you could at least attempt the pretense of interviewing some women and persons of color, but apparently not in Walton County. I am sure there were plenty of qualified persons who would have been interested in applying for either of these positions and were never even given a chance And now another Loganville administrator is handed a director position after a clear ethics violation. Is it a coincidence that he is from Loganville and a white male, I think not.

Come on, Tribune, QUIT BEING A SHILL FOR GARY HOBBS AND TELL THE WHOLE STORY!!!!!

The taxpayers of Walton County deserve to know the truth!!!! When is the leadership of this newspaper going to grow a pair and start being real newsmen?????

So the only problem that Odaat363 has with this event is the fact that Dr. Brock is A WHITE MALE... Racism is alive & well in Walton. Maybe Obama can step in & issue a Presidential Edict to strike this down. I do agree with some of the other comments, if this employee was caught violating county regulations & guidelines, he should NOT be rewarded with another position.

I heard the same story. What I cannot believe is that the Superintendent CREATED a position for him! This means we just added another 100K+ position at the Central Office level!!! In addition, it means we just added yet another white male buddy of Hobbs to the Central Office payroll! I thought we were cutting positions. Didn't we just lay off a bunch of teachers at the end of last year -- like over 30????

There appears to be more to this story than is being reported here. From what I've been told by folks that work there, it is well known that he was caught in a relationship with one of his staff members, and as a result he is leaving the job as principal.

The disturbing part is that he told the staff and parents that he was leaving LMS to take a new role at the county office as "Transportation Director". Is this how we reward folks who violate county policy (i.e., being caught in a relationship with a subordinate)? If so, I am appalled.

I hope that I've heard the wrong thing here, but something tells me this is another instance of failed leadership in WCPS.
