George Walton band plays with Christmas spirit

Alumni visit old haunts to inspire current band members

Posted: Saturday, December 24, 2016 12:00 am

George Walton Academy’s band program held its annual Christmas concert in the Nicholson Center, during which Class of 2014 alumnus Jacob Weinstein narrated an arrangement of “A Visit From St. Nicholas” upon the invitation of Associate Band Director Jason Sneath.

The concert is an opportunity for musicians in both the middle and high school bands to perform Christmas songs old and new, and the event has also become a favorite among GWA band alumni, some of whom return as audience members while others participate in the festivities.
