MONROE, Ga. — Almost overnight, construction popped up along West Spring Street, between Liberty First Bank and Tokyo Japanese Restaurant, tearing down crape myrtles on the median.

The Georgia Department of Transportation is sponsoring the expansion of the left turn lane from the street, which is also Georgia 10 Business onto Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard (Georgia 138).
