Oconee County Rescuers respond when Monroe man jumps from bridge

67-year-old stabilized after deputy jumps into Apalachee

BISHOP, Ga. — First responders and even an ordinary citizen are being hailed as heroes for helping a Monroe man who jumped from a bridge.

In a Facebook post, the Oconee County Sheriff’s Office said a 67-year-old man jumped from the bridge at Price Mill Road into the Apalachee River.
