Small business can be big

Buying local helps grow independent firms

Walton County has a huge deficit of places for its citizens to buy a drink, according to a consultant at the University of Georgia’s Small Business Development Center.

Michael Myers told the Walton Chamber of Commerce at its monthly luncheon Tuesday the Monroe Golf & Country Club that the county loses about $333 million yearly in retail and dining sales because it does not have enough establishments to meet the demand.
