Posted: Wednesday, May 22, 2013 12:00 am

Walton County was among the most well represented at the 2013 Georgia Republican Party Convention which took place last weekend in Athens. Twenty-nine of the 30 delegates scheduled to go made the trek east.

“I think we were all so proud to have to many involved citizens and elected officials from Walton County attend,” said delegate Christy Ellerbee. “I believe that attending our local meetings as well as district and state conventions is a great way to become more involved. As Republicans, we need to become more engaged and active in promoting our conservative principles.”
