Walnut Grove Councilors Witcher, Moore jump in race for mayor

Lamar Lee won’t be seeking a third term as mayor

WALNUT GROVE, Ga. — The race for Walnut Grove mayor has officially begun with half of the city council members deciding to run for the position.

Carol Witcher, councilwoman and mayor pro tem, has announced her decision to a few people across Walton County.

    So having seen the Tribune article regarding the Social Circle race which discusses the special election for a mid term candidate, will Mr. Moore step down before July 31 in order to save the City of Walnut Grove the cost of the special election or will this small city need to bear that extra expense? This would only result in him resigning his council position about 3 weeks early. Seems to me doing so would be the honorable thing.
