Cowsert will wait to announce intentions for U.S. House race

Posted: Wednesday, March 13, 2013 12:00 am

State Sen. Bill Cowsert, R-Athens, whose district includes Walton County, issued a release this week indicated he will announce his intentions concerning the 10th U.S. Congressional District after the legislative session concludes.

“Since Rep. Paul Broun’s announcement to run for the U.S. Senate, I have been approached by people from all areas of the 10th U.S. Congressional District asking me to run for the open seat, and I appreciate their encouragement and support,” Cowsert said in the release. “While I am seriously considering a run for Congress, I remain focused on the task at hand — representing the hard working people of the 46th Senate District to the best of my ability.  Therefore, I have decided to wait until after the legislative session to announce my intentions.”
