Lions organizing in Walnut Grove

Efforts ongoing to enlist charter members for new club in growing community

WALNUT GROVE — In 2007, Mark Moore was invited by a friend and discovered the Lions Club — and he liked what he saw.

“They were a group of guys that were involved in helping the residents of the city of Loganville,” Moore said. “Once I helped them with a few fund raising events, it seemed like a really good and fun way to give back to my community. We raised funds by selling discount store coupons, held a charity golf tournament, and sold the Lions Club brooms and mops. We were also involved with local events like the Fourth of July parade and a park opening.”
