On Saturday, Nov. 17, 2018, Andrew Murray Gallup, 23, of Dahlonega, went to be with the Lord.

Andy was born on Nov. 10, 1995, in the Republic of Sierra Leone, West Africa. At that time the country of Sierra Leone was in the midst of civil war and Andy was one of many children left orphaned by sickness and war. He was adopted into the Gallup family in January 2000 along with his big brother, Raymond. Andrew’s “thing,” as he liked to put it, was academics. He was two semesters away from his degree in health science at the University of North Georgia. Andy was a member of Bethlehem Church.

Survivors include his mom, Jenny Gallup, Monroe; dad, Don Gallup, Midland, Texas; sister Jessica Brubaker, Crawford; brothers Donnie Gallup, Midland, and Jonathan Gallup, Hoschton; sister Johanna Gallup, Pocatello, Idaho; brother Raymond Gallup, Lake Havasu City, Arizona; sister Lydia Gallup, Hoschton; brother Michael Gallup, Frisco, Texas; maternal grandparents Jack and Mary Reese, Flowery Branch; and many aunts and uncles who loved him very much.

A celebration of Andy’s life began at 5 p.m. Friday, Nov. 23, in the chapel of Anderson-Underwood Funeral Home.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that contributions be made to https://give.actioninternational.org/project/andrew-murray-gallup-memorial

Anderson-Underwood Funeral Home of Dahlonega, formerly Banister Funeral Home, is in charge of the arrangements.
