Mildred Clay, of Oxford, passed away on Friday, Sept. 28, 2018, at the age of 94.

She was born on Jan. 21, 1924, to Willie Joe Pickrell and Lillie Mae Aaron Pickrell. She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, the late Julius William Clay.

Surviving members of her family are daughters and sons-in-law, Barbara and Ronnie Thompson, of Monroe, Nancy and Barry Garmon, of Winder, Betty and Todd Heil, of Loganville, and Carol and Rusty Biggs, of Social Circle; sons and daughters-in-law, Gene and Bonnie Clay, of Monroe, Billy Clay, of Hardeeville, South Carolina, and Bobby and Linda Clay, of Seymour, Tennessee; 15 grandchildren and several beloved great-grandchildren.

A funeral service began at 2 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 30, in the Chapel of Meadows Funeral Home with the Rev. Todd Heil officiating. Burial followed at Gibson Cemetery.
