Our View Our View: Meeting in secret

Posted: Wednesday, March 13, 2019 12:00 am

Last week, members of the Walton County Board of Commissioners adjourned to go into executive session, to discuss a potential real estate purchase.

A newspaper editor asked Chairman Kevin Little how long the closed-door session would last, and would action be taken afterward. He said it would be about 15 minutes, which was about how long it did take. Indeed, action was taken. The board voted to authorize the county attorney to negotiate on buying the property.
