Letter to the Editor Nothing much is clear in dispute over water gun event

Posted: Saturday, June 15, 2019 12:00 am

In your coverage of the dispute over the water gun fight held on June 2, I find several anomalies.

1. Mayor John Howard said Coker Park “is chained and shut off with ‘No Trespassing’ signs” whereas City Administrator Logan Propes said the park was “technically closed” even though cleanup crews spent some time there “fixing water lines, patching roads and cutting grass.” My friend, Councilman Norman Garrett, told me the chain and No Trespassing signs only went up after the work had been done and two days before the event.
