Our View: Oliver's move a big loss for Social Circle

Posted: Wednesday, July 31, 2019 12:00 am

Congratulations to Tyrone Oliver, the governor’s pick to lead the Georgia Department of Juvenile Justice.

In his new role, Oliver will manage the agency that serves offenders 21 and younger. It’s a big step up, but after seeing the job Oliver has done as police chief in Social Circle since 2016, we’re confident he is up for the challenge.
