COLUMN: Working to keep all students safe at SCCS with help from local agencies

Posted: Saturday, March 31, 2018 12:00 am

At the end of the day, the goals are simple: safety and security.  When former Connecticut Governor Jodi Rell made this statement, she probably did not realize how prophetic those words would become throughout our country and more recently in our schools. Who would have guessed 50 years ago that we would need to have in place the safety protocols that schools do today?

Georgia law has required for many years schools to have safety plans. These plans have now become more specific. Gone is the day where plans were written and forgotten.
