In considering the controversy over what to do with the monuments to Confederates who fought to destroy the United States of America, I have devised what seems like a reasonable compromise.
Leave all the existing monuments in place but build new ones which also represent Southern heritage. In Georgia this would include building a number of monuments to the man who had the most dramatic impact on the history of the state of Georgia of any single person, far more dramatic than Robert E. Lee.
