Tax savings do not offset increase in insurance

Posted: Saturday, May 12, 2018 12:00 am

The recent article about tax savings in Georgia struck a nerve with me. My gross income and standard deduction were within $200 of the prior year's figures, yet my 2017 Georgia State income tax was $500 more than the year before.

Having supported Trump and the Republicans, I, like many, am very disappointed a year later since he was put in office. My take home pay did go up a few dollars back in February only to be offset by a health insurance plan cost increase one week later.
