Store ‘rubber stamped’ over local protests

Posted: Saturday, September 30, 2017 12:00 am

Our West Walton community took another devastating blow on Tuesday, Sept. 19. The decision made by our District 2 commissioner (motion made by Mark Banks) will destroy or alter our daily lives in this area.

We went into the meeting knowing the Planning and Zoning Department of Walton County had made a recommendation on Aug. 3 to approve the rezone (A1 to B1) No. Z17060012, allowing a Dollar General store to be built at the intersection of Highway 20 and Miller Bottom Road.
