MONROE — Monroe Area placekicker Cody Brown doesn’t get to practice on the sidelines by kicking into a net when he knows the chances of an important kick may be coming up. First of all, the Purple Hurricanes don’t have a net and secondly, Brown also plays wide receiver so he’s usually on the field.

With the Purple Hurricanes trying desperately to get into field goal range in the first overtime period in Monroe Area’s 21-20 win over Grady Friday night, Brown did the best he could.
