Strong defense aids WGHS in 53-41 win

Walnut Grove held George Walton Academy to two points in the first quarter and allowed its defense to set the tone in Thursday’s 53-41 opening night win at the Walnut Grove High School Christmas tournament.

GWA also played well on the defensive end, holding Warrior leading scorer Demarghaiy Conner to 11 points. Makez Henry, Reed Power, Treyvon Burton and Tyreek Jones each had six points for coach Rob Donaldson.
