GOOD HOPE, Ga. — Two people were killed in a head-on crash in eastern Walton County.
The two-vehicle crash happened at about 8:20 a.m. Wednesday on Georgia 186 near Moina Michael Road, about 2 miles north of Good Hope.

GOOD HOPE, Ga. — Two people were killed in a head-on crash in eastern Walton County.
The two-vehicle crash happened at about 8:20 a.m. Wednesday on Georgia 186 near Moina Michael Road, about 2 miles north of Good Hope.
Chealse Lockhart, 17, of Good Hope, was negotiating a left curve while traveling west on Georgia 186 when her 2003 Ford Escape crossed the double yellow center lines and traveled into the eastbound lane, striking a 2014 Chevrolet Sonic.
The Chevrolet traveled off the south shoulder of the road, coming to a final uncontrolled rest. The Ford spun counterclockwise and came to a final uncontrolled rest in the roadway.
The driver of the Chevrolet, 24-year-old Ashley Allen, of Mansfield, was pronounced dead at the scene.
Lockhart was transported to Piedmont Walton Hospital, then flown to Grady Memorial Hospital in Atlanta, where she died from her injuries.
Lockhart was a former Monroe Area High School student who was attending Foothills Charter High School.
Georgia State Patrol, Walton County Fire Rescue, the Walton County Sheriff’s Office and Walton EMS responded to the scene.
Troopers said alcohol and drugs were not suspected in the crash.
