Sandra Shurling is a Realtor who lives in Monroe.

MONROE — Local real estate agent Sandra Shurling joined the race for Monroe mayor on Tuesday.

She was the second candidate to qualify. Incumbent Mayor Greg Thompson qualified Monday.

Ross Bradley qualified twice Tuesday. He signed up to run in District 3, both for a full term (2018-21) and for the remainder of the unexpired term left vacant after Nathan Purvis’ resignation earlier this year.

Adriane Brown has qualified in District 3, but only in the race for a full term.

Vice Mayor Wayne Adcock has qualified to run for re-election in District 6, and Jimmy Richardson qualified to run for re-election in District 8.

Qualifying continues through Friday for the Monroe election.

In Loganville, two more people qualified for the at-large race for City Council. Ann Coles and former Mayor Mike Jones signed up to run. Incumbent Danny Ford qualified Monday. Three seats will be decided in the Nov. 7 race.

No one new joined the mayor’s race. Donna Jones and Councilman Rey Martinez qualified Monday.

Qualifying in Loganville ends at 4:30 p.m. Wednesday.

In Social Circle, no new candidates qualified Tuesday.

Candidates qualifying Monday included Mayor Pro Tem David Keener in District 3 for the City Council, John Callahan for chairman of the city Board of Education and incumbent Charles Akin and challenger Sabrina Flint for the 4th District seat on the school board.
