MADISON, Ga. — State and local agents helped by a K-9 officer found a 17-year-old accused of murder.

WDDK-FM in Greensboro reported Dontearious Burke was arrested Friday night at a home on Sixth Street in Monroe.

Burke is accused of fatally shooting 23-year-old Kentrell Jones at a home on Morgan Circle in Madison on Nov. 27.

Burke, of Greensboro, was being held in the Morgan County Jail on a charge of felony murder.

Additional charges were possible, the radio station said.

The Morgan County Sheriff’s Office asked the public Thursday to be on the lookout for Burke. In the next day, the Georgia Bureau of Investigation developed information Burke might be in Walton County.

The Walton County Sheriff’s Office activated its Special Emergency Response Team and tracked Burke to the home on Sixth Street.

K-9 officer Zoso was used to find Burke under a bed. In a Facebook post, the Sheriff’s Office hinted Zoso might have had to use force: “Not sure if this is true or just a rumor, but there MIGHT have been a couple of bite marks on suspects backside.”

The GBI; the sheriff’s offices from Greene, Morgan and Walton counties; plus Madison police, were involved in apprehending Burke.
