LOGANVILLE — Both Loganville Christian Academy varsity basketball teams cruised to region wins as the Lions hosted The Weber School of Atlanta to kick off the 2015-16 high school basketball season.

The Lady Lions won 67-34 to take their record to 1-1 overall, 1-0 region.

The LCA girls lost before Thanksgiving to Gatewood of Eatonton but got back on track Tuesday as Kayla West and Abigayle Towns paced the Lady Lions with 15 points each and Ashley Pierce added 10.

In the boys game, the Lions (1-0, 1-0) led wire-to-wire and finished the Rams off with a 55-37 final score. Daven Hall led all Lions scorers with 12 and MJ Bean added 10 with the majority of LCA points coming off fast breaks.

The Lady Lions return to action Monday with a road trip to the Atlanta Girls School and both teams travel to Athens Friday to take on Monsignor Donovan Catholic High School.

In early game action, the LCA junior varsity boys, led by Caleb Towns’ 18 points, defeated Weber 47-28.
