LAWRENCEVILLE, Ga. — Connor Lien hit two home runs and Mike Foltynewicz pitched six innings of one-run baseball to lead the Gwinnett Stripers to an 11-2 victory over the Lehigh Valley IronPigs on Thursday afternoon.
Pedro Florimon and Travis Demeritte also homered as Gwinnett salvaged a split of the four-game series.
The Stripers will be home this weekend for games against Rochester. First pitch at Coolray Field is set for 7:05 p.m. Friday, 6:05 p.m. Saturday and 1:05 p.m. Sunday.
Games will be broadcast on 97.7 FM in Duluth and 93.5 FM in Suwanee.
Lien’s first home run of the season gave the Stripers a lead in the bottom of the second, and Pedro Florimon added a 358-foot grand slam in the third inning.
Foltynewicz, a former Atlanta Braves All-Star, said his slider was working well.
“It’s a pitch that I am down here (in Triple-A) to work on,” he said. “I wasn’t surprise by it but it was good for me today.”
The Stripers now have seven grand slams for the year, tying the Gwinnett single-season record of 2011.
