The Social Circle High School wrestling team made a strong run at another state championship trophy but ended up a little short on Saturday.

A win would secure the Redskins first regular season winning record in 16 years and three-game winning streak for the first time in 15.
To avoid finishing fourth in the region and having to face a league champ in the first round of the playoffs, the Redskins will need to knock off perennial state power Commerce on the road.
Thanks to Mother Nature, they had to wait a little longer, but the Social Circle Lady Redskins captured the Region 8A-Public Championship.

After opening the season with a pair of wins, the Redskins will try and snap a two-game skid in a final tune-up game before Region 8-A public play begins.
Social Circle battled until the final buzzer but for the second straight week, came up just short against a larger opponent, this time Putnam County.
The Redskins continue their redemption tour with a trip to Eatonton to face the War Eagles. It will be their next-to-last non-region game, and maybe the toughest.
