Brett Fowler is the sports editor of The Walton Tribune. He is a 2016 graduate of the University of North Georgia and a 2010 graduate of Monroe Area High School. Brett has been covering Walton County sports since 2011.

The Monroe Community Building will soon return to its original purpose as a place of education, as the next home of the Monroe Country Day School.

The Monroe City Council unanimously approved a motion to elect district four councilman Larry Bradley as vice mayor. Bradley replaces Wayne Adcock, who passed away unexpectedly last month.

A seventh death due to COVID-19 was reported for Walton County on Monday, hours before Gov. Brian Kemp said the state has reached a monthlong dip in cases at hospitals across the state.

Walker Park Citizen, I referenced how adding a week to the season shouldn't be a big deal. There is currently a month layoff between Championship weekend and the semi-finals. There is no reason why a quarterfinal game couldn't be added the week before the semi-finals with the current set up.…

It's not the first region championship in school history, its the first since 1969. Also it was Chestatee's second loss of the year, they lost their season opener to North Hall 32-20.
